Step Five: Negotiated Brief

Mediated Argument: Children should be allowed to hunt under certain regulations only if they meet this criteria.

Responsible adult:
A child should be allowed to participate in wildlife hunting if they are accompanied by a responsible adult. The adult should be at least twenty-one years of age and a licensed hunter. The adult in this situation should also be of experience in this sport and have completed a safety courses prior to hunting with a minor.

Specified days for Child Hunting:
Days referred to as youth hunting days should be implicated into the hunting season. Days such as these would allow a child to gain experience, while at the same time decreasing the danger for both the child and other hunters. In addition to this, child hunting days would be like an introduction to the sport. It would also familiarize them with the rules, regulations, and expectations of the experience, making it safer for everyone.

Completing & Passing A Safety Course:
Adult hunters, especially the ones that accompany children as well as the child should be required to partake and receive a passing final grade in a hunter’s safety course. These courses educate hunts about their firearm and the correction operation it. These courses also provide helpful information about pinning in prior to going into the woods so that other hunters will know their locations. These courses also provide numerous amounts of additional information.

Obtaining A Hunting License:
By requiring hunters to obtain hunting license, game management officials are able to do background checks to see if the individual has had a violent past or anything of that nature. Also this helps ensure that individuals who are permitted to hunt are qualified and knowledgeable of the safety regulations. After all if they are going to responsibly accompany a minor who desires to hunt they need to be qualified to do this in a safe and proper manor. Having them obtain a hunting license is just one of the ways to encourage this standard.

Your mediation seems to be on the right track. I need to see information to support the steps you present. Either information that directly supports your ideas or information used against children hunting and why your proposal refutes those claims.

Make sure you are editing your posts. There were a few mistakes that could have been caught with a quick read through, I believe. Let me know if you have any questions or need any further help.
